final #6- immersive education
10 years from now, I believe that immersive education worlds will be like controlling a character in a modern video game. It will be a great way for kids in elementary school to learn topics that can be very dull such as history because 10 years from now, the history will look a lot more lifelike than any immersive world can make today. I see kids walking around important events throughout history like the Civil War, MLK's "I Have A Dream" speech, and World War II and the information will stick because the students will find the history interesting.
It will become a big thing in elementary schools because students will learn interactively. Immersive education may be an interactive learning tool similar to computer games that are meant to teach kids important subjects like vocabulary and simple math. Also, students may be able to explore the world virtually as well. Here is an example of this:
However, immersive education will never be able to completely replace regular face-to-face teaching in subjects like learning how to read, math, and english classes. By the time students get to high school, they will be able to decide the method of learning they like better and go with it. Some students may like learning in virtual environments, while others may prefer the personal touch of learning in a classroom and getting face to face help.
While immersive education will be incredibly useful in elementary schools in class and in high school as a way to communicate outside of class, it will never be able to completely replace going to school and learning in a physical classroom from a physical teacher for a lot of subjects. It is something that can be very beneficial to kids in the future, but might not be as useful to high school students.

fairycastle

final #4- monocular depth cues
atmospheric perspective- two rockets have different shading, towers are not as visible
lighting/shading- one side of the wall is darker than the other, gets lighter as it's farther away
linear perspective- these posts in a straight line look smaller than the one in front of it
occlusion- the large rock is blocking view of the gray stone
texture density- the bricks in front of me look realistic, that feeling goes away as you move farther and farther away
size differences- the robot in front of me looks much larger than the one right behind it, but they are both the same size
