Things I learned in Virtual Harlem

1.) The Apollo Theater was first owned by Jewish people in 1913 and became a leading comedy club. At this time, only whites were allowed in.

2.) Various black history institutes keep records of those of African descent in order to chronicle the experiences they faced.

3.) The Cotton Club was first opened under the name Club De Luxe by heavyweight champion Jack Johnson in 1920, before it was renamed by a prominent gangster.
